A Spooky Halloween Cocktail

Is it really almost time for Halloween? October feels like it flew by! I stocked up on Halloween candy this weekend and have already failed to exercise self-control when it calls to me from the pantry. I never ever buy candy, so this is the only time of year we have it in the house and it is so hard to resist! Our neighborhood has a ton of children and I love handing out candy to all of the trick-or-treaters – here’s hoping there’s actually some left for the kids this year!

Although we don’t throw a big Halloween party, we always have a few friends over for a casual dinner and cocktails. With any occasion, I think it’s so fun to come up with a drink of the night (or day sometimes haha). I think it makes for a more festive evening, but it’s also just a great excuse for me to experiment with cocktail recipes! I had never used dry ice in a cocktail before so I had a lot of fun with this one! After calling around to a few places to find it, it turns out the Publix near my house carries it and you can buy it in small or large quantities – who knew! Now I’m looking for even more ways to incorporate it into my Halloween festivities!

This spooky martini is simple, delicious, and guaranteed to raise your spirits (see what I did there 👻). I hope you enjoy!

Spooky Halloween Cocktail
  • 2 oz vodka
  • 2 oz pomegranate juice
  • 0.5 oz St. Germaine elderflower liqueur
  • 4-5 blackberries
  • 1-2 fresh mint sprigs
  • 1 cube dry ice
  1. Muddle blackberries and mint in a shaker

  2. Add vodka, pomegranate juice, and St. Germaine

  3. Add ice and shake until very cold

  4. Strain into chilled martini glass

  5. Use tongs to add a cube of dry ice for serving*

  6. Enjoy!

Recipe Notes

*Always use tongs when handling dry ice and do not drink until the dry ice is fully dissolved. Also make sure you are using food grade dry ice!
