GG Crackers with Goat Cheese, Fig, Pear, and Honey

Unless you live under a rock, you’ve probably heard of GG Crackers. They are having a major moment and are taking over social media feeds everywhere. I apparently do, in fact, live under a rock because I just heard about them a few weeks ago! Naturally, I immediately read all about them and ran out to buy a truckload to experiment with.

So, what’s all the hype about? Known as the “appetite control cracker”, these crackers pack in 4 grams of fiber with each serving, are super low in carbs and calories, and are…wait for it…fat free. They also keep it simple and minimize the number of ingredients, which I love. The high fiber content helps keep you full and reduces cravings throughout the day.

Thanks to social media, GG Crackers are all the rage now in the United States. However, they were created in the 1930’s in Norway and Europeans have been hogging enjoying them for literally decades! The crackers come in original, oat bran, sunflower seed, pumpkin seed, and raisin and honey flavors. Although the crackers themselves are rather bland, I see that as a blank canvas on which to create savory and sweet masterpieces!

You can buy them on Amazon, but I also found them at my local Whole Foods. The GG website also has a “where to buy” tool where you can search stockists in your area in case you don’t want to order them online.

Since finding out about these little guys, I’ve been coming up with new ways to use them each day to help replace more carb-heavy foods in my diet. One of my favorites is this delightful little snack you see below.

gg cracker with goat cheese, fig, pear, and honey

I started with two GG Raisin and Honey flavored crackers, spread a small amount of goat cheese on each, topped with sliced figs and pears, and finished it off with some local honey.

Love this post? Check out another way I use GG crackers to replace the toast in avocado toast! In the meantime, let me know if you’re as obsessed as I am and how you use them!
