Try the Trend: Matching Sets

The co-ord set started making its comeback last year, and this summer the trend became fully entrenched. Almost every retailer has a section on their site for “matching sets”, and designers are churning out everything from shorts, pants, skirts, crop tops, and blazers in the same prints and fabrics. These sets are not to be confused with the old looks your mom used to dress you in for kindergarten, no, these sets are effortless yet chic, and give off a sophisticated, polished vibe.

Personally, I’m all in for the match-matchy looks. I love that you have a ready-made outfit that perfectly coordinates (but isn’t a dress), or you can easily switch it up and mix and match with other pieces. Any trend that allows for more closet maximization is a win in my book! Plus, I love that many designers are making multiple items in the same print. Don’t like the skirt? Go for the wide-leg pants. Crop tops not your thing? There’s a matching blazer instead. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve loved the fabric/print of a piece, but the cut/fit just wasn’t for me. It’s been great to see that not only is the co-ord trend here to stay, but designers are actually expanding their selection of matching pieces!

See below for some inspiration, and scroll to the bottom of the post for some of my favorite matching sets of the moment!

The look I’m wearing below is from Zara. Unfortunately, the set is sold out, but Zara has a ton of other co-ord options on their website! Keep scrolling for some of my in-stock matching favorites!

Do you love the match-matchy trend, or is it not for you? Sound off in the comments! Also, if you love these looks, be sure to check out my Paces West shop pages for more outfit links!

As always, thank you so much for reading and sharing! XOXO
