Why You Should Be Using CBD Skincare

We’ve all heard of CBD, or cannabidiol, the non-psychoactive derivative of the cannabis plant. CBD has been touted as a treatment for a variety of ailments, including anxiety, pain, and even seizures. You should know that I am a huge fan of CBD oil. I keep this tincture from Charlotte’s Web on hand and take it as needed to help with my anxiety (read: basically every day). I also give a dropper-full to my dogs anytime they’re traveling with us or when we’re going to be out of the house for a long period of time. Don’t worry, they have their own bottle and we don’t use the same dropper, a detail my husband needed clarifying.

You can imagine that given my enthusiasm for CBD oil and all of its magical powers, I am more than game to try other CBD-infused products. Smoothie mix? Yep. Shampoo and conditioner? You betcha. Bubble bath? Damn right. So, when I found out CBD skincare products were a thing, I went all in.

So, why should you introduce CBD into your skincare routine? First and foremost, CBD is a powerful anti-inflammatory, which enables it to visibly calm redness and other signs of stressed skin. As someone who suffers from mild rosacea, I can directly confirm CBD’s redness-reducing capabilities. For this reason alone, it will always have a place in my skincare routine. CBD is also packed with antioxidants and essential fatty acids, making it an effective ingredient to fight free radical damage and soothe skin conditions such as eczema.

Now that I’ve convinced you to give CBD skincare a try, where should you begin? There are so many products out there promising a range of benefits, it can be overwhelming, to say the least. But don’t worry boo, I got you. I’m constantly searching for new products to try, but so far these are my favorites:

The Feelist Most Wanted Oil

Saint Jane The C-Drops

Saint Jane The C-Drops

This has become one of my hero skincare products in the few short months I’ve used it. Vitamin C serums have long been a staple in my skincare routine due to their high antioxidant content and skin-brightening powers. This one has a potent, 20% dose of C plus 500mg of full-spectrum CBD plus ferulic acid to enhance absorption of both. It’s basically magic serum and you’ll never catch me without it.

Beboe Therapies High Potency CBD Serum

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I never met a face oil I didn’t like. I just happen to like this one significantly more than all the others. Not only does it have 300mg CBD, it also contains nourishing ingredients such as Avocado oil, Sea Buckthorn Oil, Squalene, and Grapeseed Oil to name a few. I love it because it’s heavily moisturizing but doesn’t feel too heavy or sticky. I use it at night after my retinol serum to help calm any irritation.

The Feelist Most Wanted Oil

The Feelist Most Wanted Oil has amassed a cult-following since its launch last fall. Not only does it have a mega-dose of 500mg broad-spectrum CBD, it also features healing ingredients such as Marula Oil, Rosehip Oil, and Evening Primrose Oil. The Most Wanted oil is very similar to the Beboe Therapies serum above, and I use them interchangeably depending on my mood. A major pro of this one is it’s significantly less expensive than the Beboe serum. But you’ve got to be quick to get it – it’s constantly sold out.

Herbivore Botanicals Emerald + CBD Glow Oil

You may have heard of Herbivore Botanicals, the all-natural skincare company that focuses on products that are safe, non-toxic, and highly effective. Their Emerald + CBD oil has less CBD than the two mentioned above, but it also comes with a much more affordable price tag. I love that it’s super light, yet packed with moisturizing ingredients like Meadowfoam Seed Oil. It also contains the adaptogens Ashwagandha Root, Shiitake Mushroom, and Turmeric to fight free radicals and reduce signs of aging.

The Nue Co. The Pill

Of the products mentioned here, this is the only one I haven’t personally tried. However, it has been recommended to me by multiple different people and has received glowing reviews from all. What I like about The Pill is that it’s designed to take the guesswork out of layering different skincare steps. It’s a one-step product that simultaneously decreases inflammation, plumps and moisturizes, and brightens and exfoliates. With hero ingredients like CBD, Tiger Grass, and Hyaluronic Acid, it’s easy to see why this serum has gained its significant following. Suffice to say I’ll be giving it a try ASAP.

Did I miss anything? If you have a favorite CBD product I haven’t heard of yet, send it my way! I would love to give it a try.

As always, thank you for reading and sharing! XOXO
