Vintage Designer Finds: My Top Pre-Loved Luxury Pieces For Spring
Purchasing vintage and pre-loved designer pieces has been growing in popularity for the past few years. Not only does sourcing pre-owned luxury items provide an opportunity to invest in designer items for less, you can also find rare and unique vintage pieces that are no longer available in retail boutiques. I personally love shopping for pre-loved designer pieces online, but not all luxury resale sites are reputable. My favorite resale sites where I have found some of my favorite pieces are Rebag, Fashionphile, and FWRD Renew. These sites are considered widely reputable and have stringent authentication procedures and guarantees so you can be sure that the item you’re purchasing is authentic and in the condition specified.
It’s also important to note that buying pre-loved items does not guarantee that a piece will be less expensive than in stores. Some items, such as Hermès Birkin or Kelly bags, actually increase in value on the secondhand market and can be almost double the retail price. Some rare or vintage pieces fall into this category as well. That said, I have found some amazing buys in near-perfect condition for less than retail, so it’s always worth keeping an eye out for pieces you’re interested in. For example, I found my Chanel Cerf Executive Tote (pictured above) on Rebag for nearly half what it would have cost in a Chanel boutique before it was discontinued.
