10 Photos That Will Make You Book A Summer Trip To The Côte d’Azur

The famed French Riviera immediately evokes visions of old-world glamour and jet-setting elite. Also known as the Côte d’Azur or simply the South of France, the picturesque towns along France’s southeastern Mediterranean coastline have firmly established themselves as a bucketlist destination for luxury travel enthusiasts. Though it’s most famous for its shimmering blue waters, sun-bleached rocky beaches, and, of course, superyachts dotting the horizon, the French Riviera is also home to the most charming villages full of art, culture, and nightlife. You’ve likely heard of the more famous towns such as Nice, Cannes, and Saint-Tropez, but the Côte d’Azur is home to over 40 idyllic towns and villages. The area has become even more popular and accessible to tourists over the past several years, and towns such as Antibes, Èze, Menton, and Grasse are emerging as stand-alone destinations.

I’ve been fortunate enough to visit the French Riviera twice – once to Nice and Monaco while I was in college and most recently to Antibes. While there are numerous hotel options at various price points, it had always been a dream of mine to stay at the famous Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Cap d’Antibes. All of the photos in this post were taken at the Hotel du Cap, and while it is certainly not a budget option, it more than lives up to the hype and will forever be my ultimate recommendation for where to stay in the South of France.

In case you need any extra motivation to book your trip to the Côte d’Azur, take a look through these 10 swoon-worthy photos and scroll to the bottom of the post for a few of my favorite restaurant recommendations in the area.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t leave you with recommendations for where to eat in the South of France, an area known for its nightlife and food culture. Below are a few of my favorites I’ve personally visited as well as a few on my list for next time:

Nice Restaurants: Le Plongeoir, Le Grand Café de France, L’Alchimie, La Petite Maison Nice

Cannes Restaurants: Luigi Cannes, La Môme, Le Bâoli, La Guérite

Saint-Tropez Restaurants: Le Club 55, Gigi Ramatuelle, Airelles Saint-Tropez, Lou Lou Ramatuelle
