In My Shopping Cart: European Summer Style
It’s (almost) that of year when everyone you know seems to be jetting off to Europe and filling your social media feed with idyllic scenes from abroad and, of course, perfectly curated European summer wardrobes. The popularity of the “European summer outfit” started last year on TikTok thanks to Sofia Richie’s ultra-chic wedding in the South of France. Interpretations of the trend may vary, but to me, European summer style means selecting pieces that exude understated luxury, effortless sophistication, and a bit of fun joie de vivre flair. The look should be easy to wear and easy to travel with – think soft linens, drapey silks, and flowy cottons. Whether I’m shopping for an upcoming trip to the French Riviera or just curating my summer capsule wardrobe, I find myself gravitating towards simple, elegant pieces that can be mix-and-matched and worn repeatedly throughout the season. If you follow me on Instagram, you know I’ve long embraced minimal style and almost always wear neutrals. So, while your European summer style might include vibrant hues and prints, mine will remain a symphony of black, white, and beige just the way I like it.
I’m sharing a few finds I’m currently loving below, and you can also shop a larger list of summer outfit ideas HERE. Some of the pieces below are from FWRD, which has become one of my favorite retailers lately, so I wanted to share a FWRD promo code in case you fall in love with one them! Scroll to the bottom of the post for a 20% FWRD code for new customers.
One of my absolute favorite pieces from last summer is the YSL Bag shown above. It was originally a men’s bag called ‘Le Tuc’ but now it’s on the Saint Laurent website as ‘Le Rafia’. I styled it with far more outfits than I originally thought I would and I’m seriously considering purchasing it in black as well.
One of my favorite recent purchases are these black mesh flats (also shown above) which I plan to also purchase in white and nude. Mesh ballet flats first became a thing last summer with the Dear Frances, Khaite, and Alaïa versions you’ve probably seen on your Instagram feeds. I loved the style last year but couldn’t bring myself to invest in one of those more expensive pairs when I thought it would be a fleeting trend. However, now that the style is everywhere this year (and at various price points) I finally bought them in black and have worn them so often already.
Finally, just in case you fall in love with one of the above pieces from FWRD, I’m sharing a discount code valid for first time customers: HELLOFWRD20. As I mentioned above, I frequently shop at FWRD (Revolve’s sister site) because it carries a huge range of designers and luxury items and, like Revolve, offers free 2-day shipping on orders. Enjoy!
